Watch this video to see more of the life-size Magnemite model: https://youtu.be/YFrfA8L_MxE As a huge fan of Pokémon, I was searching for something simple to demonstrate my modeling process in an upcoming video. That's when I turned to Magnemite - its shape made it perfect for the task. For added inspiration, I drew from The 3D Printing Nerd and decided to make him life-size. Modeling took around three hours, with the entire project broken down into manageable parts. The main sphere was divided into two sections, one featuring the eye on the side and the other a half-sphere for the back. Two magnets and a magnet pin were added for improved accuracy, while three screws provided additional stability. The model can be easily scaled up or down, with the smaller version being simply a downsized version of the larger one. The life-size Magnemite was printed on my Robo3D in PLA, taking approximately 40 hours to complete. In contrast, the smaller version was printed on my Da Vinci 1.0 Pro using ABS and took around 14 hours to print. After printing, my wife stepped in to show me her painting and post-processing techniques. The smaller model turned out well under my guidance, while the larger one was beautifully finished by my wife. I'll be releasing a series of videos soon that will showcase the entire process from start to finish.
