Giant Killer Robots: Heavy Hitters Storage Solution
thingiverse
This is a compact storage solution designed specifically for Weta's GKR - Heavy Hitters board game. Its purpose is to keep the Sweet and Salty expansion along with the entire game in one place without requiring additional space beyond the two original boxes (Core Game + Kickstarter stretch goals box). This innovative solution allows you to store the following items in the core game box: * All Heavy Hitter models for every faction, arranged upright or on their sides * Support unit models for all factions, stored in racks of three per piece * The Big Little Buddy model is placed next to the three upright Heavy Hitters * Mercenary unit models are stored in racks of three with some empty spaces left over * Ten plastic building models (20 pieces) can be arranged in some empty spaces * The game board is tucked away underneath everything Components such as building caps and bases, player boards, cards, tokens, dice, pilots, and anything else not mentioned above are stored in the Kickstarter stretch goals box. Since there are already many excellent storage ideas available on BGG, I haven't focused on designing a solution for these components. This design is suitable for horizontal storage, but you can add magnets to make it work vertically as well. You might also want to consider adding felt or a soft material to the bottoms of parts to prevent them from gouging the game board, though this shouldn't be necessary due to the clearance provided by the box lid when it's closed. To store items in the manner shown in the included photos, you'll need to print the following files: * 3 x GKR_-_Heavy_Hitter_Storage_Upright.stl * 1 x GKR_-_Big_Little_Buddy_Storage.stl * 1 x GKR_-_Heavy_Hitter_Storage_Side_A.stl * 1 x GKR_-_Heavy_Hitter_Storage_Side_B.stl * 1 x GKR_-_Heavy_Hitter_Storage_Side_C.stl * 4 x GKR_-_Support_Unit_Storage_Top.stl * 4 x GKR_-_Support_Unit_Storage_Bottom.stl * 6 x GKR_-_Urban_Wasteland_Building_Storage.stl In the photos, you might notice that my buildings are stored using parts of two different thicknesses. This was due to a measurement error on my part that I corrected halfway through. The file has been corrected here, and it now allows for all six building storage parts to be printed at the same size.
With this file you will be able to print Giant Killer Robots: Heavy Hitters Storage Solution with your 3D printer.
