The massive ground sloth mandible previously attributed to Megatherium mirabile is now classified as Eremotherium rusconii. Discovered in Georgia in 1823, this fossilized jawbone underwent 3-D scanning using a Go!Scan 50 at the Smithsonian's Department of Paleobiology on June 26, 2018. The Smithsonian Natural History Museum Department of Paleobiology graciously provided access to this specimen.
