Another model I've created using an old toy and calipers is being shared as a free download on my website. This file presents the design in full scale, but it was optimized specifically for printing at 25%. When printed outside that range, there may be too little or too much detail. The tank featured in this model has a unique bridge layer, a fun accessory when moving vehicles between surfaces such as couches and coffee tables. However, the bridge does not fold out like on the original toy. My initial design incorporated articulating test pieces, but they broke easily, so I opted for a manual process to set up the bridge instead. The printed result has the folded bridge set in place by gluing two pairs together – one set folded and another unfolded. This way, when placing the folded bridge on top of the tank, it securely holds its position even with movement. Each component can be printed without support structures except for a minor modification on certain versions of the design, such as the chassis, which has been designed to match real-life positioning by being printed tread-down. Similarly, both parts of the bridge are required and need to be oriented with the thicker sections facing upwards while also printing the guns in the correct position, each one with the barrel parallel to the base. Update 3/5/16 included an alternate design version of the bridge called 'bridge filled in' because some users experienced difficulties printing fine details. Users requiring this updated section need it due to structural challenges; otherwise, they can safely use the original model provided earlier without concerns. The development and release of this file have not been possible without recognition for the immense dedication of our nation's Armed Forces – past, present, and future personnel. The courage shown by them underlines a testament of strength that ultimately provides an individual such as myself to live peacefully in a land offering liberty. Your unwavering resilience truly reflects American greatness. As noted, this model is available free but it carries restrictions on re-selling the original file's printouts; it may not be sold physically due to copyright restrictions which remain applicable even when using a redistributing third party source; and sharing physical copies remains permissible in case they are distributed privately and non commercially among others outside commercial ventures for private use purposes.
