GI Joe Slugger

The GI Joe Slugger from 1984 is a lightweight, six-wheeled vehicle equipped with a massive gun mounted on top. What could go wrong? The .30 cal mounting is too delicate for the printed scale, so you'll need to improvise if you want one for your copy. I created this file without having the actual toy in hand, relying instead on blueprints, online pictures, and estimates. Although it was designed at full scale, it's optimized for printing at 25%. If you print outside that range, your model may have too much or too little detail. Special thanks to Chris, who provided crucial dimensions from his old toy. Without him, this file wouldn't exist. My finished model weighs just 12 grams, making the material cost about $0.25 per print. This free download is listed as "non-commercial" because it's a copy of someone else's intellectual property, not my own design. You're allowed to print personal copies, but buying or selling physical ones isn't permitted. If you've downloaded this from somewhere other than my thingiverse.com site without permission, thank you for respecting me and the original copyright holder. The howitzer was designed as a snug fit into the chassis. To make it work, I had to sand down the square end slightly to get it to fit properly. This way, you can adjust the gun's elevation without gluing it in place. Much respect and gratitude go out to past and present members of our Armed Forces – they're the "Real American Heroes." Their sacrifices allow people like me to live in peace, freedom, and create silly toys like this GI Joe Slugger.
