The original 1984 GI Joe WHALE hovercraft was an accident waiting to happen, prone to frequent breakdowns that left owners frustrated and helpless. One of its most notorious flaws was a tendency for the front landing ramp hinge pins to snap, a problem that became even more infuriating because it was almost impossible to repair short of fabricating brand-new replacements from scratch. I took matters into my own hands and designed a pair of sturdy right and left hinges that can be seamlessly integrated into the existing design, replacing the original parts if they fail, but only provided the break doesn't extend beyond the hinge itself. To make this process as smooth as possible, use a razor saw to carefully cut out the remnants of the original hinge and follow the step-by-step instructions posted in my DIY guide for a flawless execution. Even if just one side is broken, these replacements are designed to blend in seamlessly with the originals, making them nearly undetectable to the naked eye.
