GI Joe H.A.L.

GI Joe H.A.L.

The HAL was an acronym for heavy artillery laser, and I still don't fully grasp how lasers could be used as artillery even today. Nevertheless, it's a classic element from 80s GI Joe toys. This model was drawn using my original toy and a pair of 6-inch calipers. Although the file is presented at full scale, I designed it to be optimized when printed at 25%. If you don't stick within that range, the details may become either too prominent or overly subtle. The gun doesn't move up and down like the actual toy, so I created a few different turret versions at varying angles. You'll only need to print one of them per model. Additionally, I added support material under the axle. This gives you more surface area to glue the tires on and prevents them from shearing off once complete. All parts were modeled with supports enabled, but due to their small size, it wasn't too much trouble to remove them. Make sure all parts are oriented with the top surface facing upwards. The tires should be printed with the hubcaps facing up, without any support material. I have tremendous respect and gratitude for the men and women of our Armed Forces (past and present). Their sacrifices allow people like me to live in peace and freedom. You are the true American heroes. These files were created by me, and they're free to download.
