GI Joe Field Light Attack Cannon (FLAK)
thingiverse
The GI Joe FLAK from the class of 1982 proved essential with Cobra's vast air power at its disposal, leaving the Joes desperate for a solution. This file was created using the original blueprint and dimensions taken directly off the toy, with the model scaled up to full size but optimized for printing at 25%. If you deviate from this range, your print may suffer from either excessive or insufficient detail. Weighing in at 2 grams, each finished model cost a mere 4 cents to produce. This file is available for free download, with one important caveat: it's listed as non-commercial due to its origins from intellectual property that doesn't belong to me. As such, neither you nor I are permitted to sell physical copies of this 3-D model. However, printing personal copies is encouraged and appreciated; 'makes' are indeed welcome. To print the base, position it right-side up. Next, print the post with supports in place, oriented right-side up as well. Finally, print the cannon assembly with the gun barrel horizontal, also with supports. I extend my gratitude to a kind individual who provided the critical measurements that made this possible. Though we didn't discuss using their name publicly, I'm keeping them anonymous for now. Without their help, this project would have remained on the 'to do' list for much longer. As always, I offer respect and thanks to past and present members of our Armed Forces – true "Real American Heroes" whose sacrifices grant people like me the freedom to live in peace and create items such as these 3-D toys.
