Ghosty Table
thingiverse
I designed a printed table base that complements a 24-inch glass tabletop with a spooky Halloween theme. My wife, Annelle, created the ghostly figure in clay and I scanned it using the Makerbot 3D scanner, afterwards refining the scan with Tinkercad. The printed base requires 1.2 kilograms of filament and takes about 50 hours to print. The hollow eyes can accommodate a Ping transducer and I'm currently adding lights, sound effects, and activation features that trigger when someone walks by. My creative vision was inspired by the art pieces at Mousarris.com. Their beautiful and well-designed Rocket Coffee Table costs around five thousand Euros, putting our DIY project's simplicity into perspective.
