Ghostly Gramophone: Proof of Concept

Ghostly Gramophone: Proof of Concept

I conceptualized this retro-style Gramophone as a proof of concept. Crafting just a 0.20mm thick diaphragm with the assistance of a sharpened sewing needle allows you to play any revolving vinyl records. The sewing needle oscillates from the rotating vinyl record. That oscillation is transferred to the diaphragm, which transmits the sound that you hear. This design is purely theoretical. I wager someone with superior design skills than mine can assemble a fully functional version. Watch this video of sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Zla9m8eeLQ Please note: The needle will likely damage your records. Don't use it with your treasured possessions. I bought some affordable Beethoven records from Goodwill for $1. I recommend the same. Needles are needles; thus, they're sharp. Use a good set of pliers to assemble. Instructions 1) Print Gramophone and cover. 2) Sharpen a sewing needle that will fit into the assembly. 3) Position it gently on a rotating record. 4) Enjoy the sound.
