With over 58 parts designed to be fully 3D printed (except for the screws that hold it all together), this trap can accommodate electronics for lights, sound, door mechanics, and smoke. The first two gallery pictures showcase a Deluxe trap with as much real hardware as possible. Hybrid Design This Ghost Trap is a unique blend of GB1 & GB2 traps - featuring overall size, screw placement, and knobs from GB2, along with the protruding cartridge from GB1. I modeled the trap using excellent plans from Sean Bishop and Stefan Otto at www.gbfans.com, then made further modifications based on my research and extensive photo reference. Upgrade Your Trap While fully printable, this trap was designed to be upgradeable with real parts whenever possible. For instance, 1/16" aluminum plates can be swapped out for the 3D printed ones as a template. Learn More at Tested.com For a deeper dive into how the Trap was designed and built, check out my feature on Tested.com: Print Settings Notes: * You'll need a print bed that can accommodate up to 8.8" W x 4" D. * For strength, use higher infill for parts like the side panels and bottom frame. * For optimal results, experiment with slower speeds for parts like the foster connectors. * A hardware list and print guidelines are included in the download. SPECIAL ULTIMAKER NOTE: The side panels and bottom frame JUST fit on the UM2 print bed. To print them, open Expert Settings > Skirt > Line Count and set it to 0. Place the part going left to right and nudge it as far left as possible. MakerBot Desktop & Simplify3D Users You can print the scribe lines (paint guides) on the top doors with these software packages - not sure what's up with Cura, though!
