Ghostbusters Ecto Goggles
prusaprinters

For a friend's birthday i wanted to build some ecto-goggles, because he is a big fan of Ghostbusters. I found some welding goggles at our hardwarestore and remembered some pictures of some DIY-Ectogoggles based on this model.

You can find it by the following names:

Forney 55320 Goggles

AES Industries Welding Helmet Style Flip-up Goggles

Hobart 770094 Welding Oxy-Acetylene Goggle

I know they are not very accurate to the one in the movie, but it will work for my purposes.
The biggest problem is to paint them, because they are based on silicone, so they will only look good for a weekend, if you want to wear them for a conventation or whatever.
I think he will put them somewhere as decoration.
To fit the lenses from the original sources, i had to resize them a little bit and built a plate, so i can remove the original glasses and put the plate with the lenses instead.
Maybe someone is interested in these models, so feel free to use it. :)
If someone finds the welding goggles in black, please send me the link.
