Ghost Toy

Updated on January 4, 2012; a new .stl file named ghost_3_111218b_0.84mm has been added for printing with thinner nozzles due to its 0.84mm thick wall. The model is a miniature ghost toy that can be made more eye-catching by using glow-in-the-dark plastic or inserting a small light. A test print was done in blue, while the first and last images showcase the toy in glow-in-the-dark plastic. The cape's thickness of 1.5mm creates a two-strand wall, resulting in relatively quick printing times. The model file mk_ghost_2_101011b.mac generates the geometry using ANSYS Classic. An improved ANSYS to .stl converter, ansys_2_stl_101012a.mac, was released on October 26, 2010, which rectifies a bug present in the previous version. This new converter expands partial models by reflection in a rectangular coordinate system. For expanding partial models using a cylindrical system, use ansys_2_stl_cyclic_101024a.mac alongside thing:5883.
