Ghost Paper Clip

Lesson Plan and Activity:With a partner, you will recreate your ghost clip using Solidworks.  You and your partner MUST have identical files that you create by collaborating on each step, one at a time. How I Designed This: I sketched a to scale drawing of the model clip I drew another sketch, this time blown up to 2x scale. which I measured it in many different ways, to gather all the necessary dimensions. (I divided all measurements by 2, so they were accurate to the model clip.)With these measurements, I filled out the outline.I then created a solidworks file in which I started constructing the 3D model using the outlineI constructed one element at a time, carefully using the specified measurements, but tweaking them as necessaryI created the left side of the ghost first, then I mirrored everything to the right side, meaning everything was exactly symmetrical Construction instructions:Draw a center box off of the originDimension it to match the dimensions on the drawingAdd a construction line to contain the triangles on the top. Dimensions specified on drawing. Add a construction line to contain the half circles on the bottom. Dimensions specified on drawing.Draw 3 triangles within the construction box at the top. Only draw them on the left side. Make points specified distances away from each other along the top two construction lines. Then connect the points in a zigzag pattern using line segments shown  Each line segment should be set equal using relations. Mirror the triangles to the right side while the middle construction line is selected.Draw a semicircle and a half semicircle within the construction box at the bottom. Only draw it on the left side of the center construction line with the specified dimensions. Use the center point arc tool. Mirror the arcs to the right side while the middle construction line is selected.Add horizontal construction line to where the top of the mouth arc will beDraw an arc on the left side of the center construction side based on measurements on paper.Connect a line going from the top of the arc, to the top of the mouthMirror arc and connected line,then select entire U shape and offsetCreate horizontal construction line and create a center point circle with the proper dimensionsThen mirror the eye to the right side, as shown aboveThen compare your ghost paperclip to the real ghost paperclip, and see if you need to change anything or troubleshoot.Extrude your ghost with the specified dimensions. (0.2cm)Then make your initials using the text tool.Finally, use the extruded cut tool to cut the initials into your paperclip. Dimensions specified on the sheet. (0.1cm)The final product should look something like this!
