gHE - rugged cheap and easy to DIY hot end for any 3D printer
thingiverse
After spending time with printers and hot ends, I discovered a simple solution that prints well and provides easy service and nozzle interchangeability. You can follow the models for assembly; if you're familiar with a typical garage workshop, it shouldn't be a problem. The stainless steel barrel is epoxy-glued into the aluminum 8mm interface piece. The drawings may be sketchy, but the linker/heat barrier with the gAL8 mount (Golem Aluminum Link 8mm dia) is designed to be tolerant of poor fabrication. The nozzle is a default universal type, and although optimal settings for various materials, diameters, and speed/quality ratios can still be fine-tuned, this setup should make experimentation less troublesome.
