In the Portable Stand Up Paddle Board Challenge, my design was inspired by bodyboards, focusing on 3D optimization, lightweight construction, and ease of transportation. The board is divided into three pieces connected by 4" diameter screw plugs, resulting in minimal parts and quick assembly. The design fits in a slightly modified bodyboard bag for easy transport. On SolidWorks, polyethylene (PE) was used as the material, with a total weight of 20.1 lbs, meeting the challenge's requirement. The fully assembled board measures 9'-6" x 32" with a 4" thickness and a minimum thickness of 0.04". Rib structures inside the board optimize design for durability during transport or hitting reefs, while screw plugs are thicker to handle higher stress. I learned much about SUP boards and materials throughout this challenge, and I'm confident you'll appreciate my innovative design!
