I'm thrilled to share with you a more robust version of the emergency mask, perfect for those in dire need. Here's a step-by-step tutorial video to guide you through the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bt1UZAnxnA This design is derived from a brilliant initial concept found on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4235098), and I'd like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the creator for their innovative work, which is shared under CC License. Please note that this mask is not a tested medical device by any standard, and using it comes with its own risks. It's essential to understand that this mask does not replace a mouth/nose shield or an FFP mask, so if you have access to those, please use them in conjunction with this mask. The primary purpose of this emergency mask is to provide protection from coarse droplets and minimize the amount of facial misting. Our tested overhead film was 0.2 mm thick, but thinner films may also work. You might need to adjust the foil slit using a thin cutting tool. To assemble the mask, thread both ends of the rubber band through the loops and tie them securely. Alternatively, you can use an elastic band with some stretch or another secure fastening method. The recommended length for the rubber band is 35 cm. To add extra security to the film, you can apply two layers of Tesa tape on top or fold the mask in half and press it firmly. For smaller heads, simply adjust the knot accordingly. Stay safe, and remember that 3D printers can create more than just weapons!
