Create an easy-to-make germinator cover for your Mason Jar by following these instructions. For optimal results, set your print parameters with a perimeter of 5 and a rectilinear fill of 0.3. This DIY project took only one afternoon at EchoFab.org in Montreal and involved collaboration with Marc Olivier. The design is simple - just a cylinder with adjustable parameters. The first prototype was made using OpenSCAD, but after testing and evaluating other projects at EchoLab, the team switched to SketchUp for a simpler design. They also experimented with different heights (1mm and 2mm) in subsequent iterations. The final result was impressive, and the cover was perfect for sprouting seeds at home.
