Please check out our new Kickstarter for US infantry! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alloymodels/united-states-infantry-wwii/ Several files are now available in the zip downloads, with many more to come. These models were designed with low poly count and optimized for printing on FDM machines. All files can be printed without supports unless otherwise noted. The scale is approximately 20mm in height, which should fit well within a 15mm setting. I'm seeking feedback to determine if this scale needs adjustment to meet the goal of 1:100. Settings: Print at a layer height of 0.12 or better for optimal results. Use brims on weapons and arms printed without supports to improve bed adhesion. Initially, it's recommended to print one figure at a time to minimize stringing issues, but due to cooling limitations, I suggest printing two figures simultaneously. If you're using PLA, you can easily weld models together with a warmed paperclip. Be cautious not to burn yourself or the house down! A low-temperature heat gun can be used to create new and altered poses, but use it with care! In some cases, a brief heat application can help position arms as desired. I've added a spur to the top of the helmet to prevent distortion at the head's crown. This spur is intended to be removed after printing. Update: I no longer include this feature due to face blobbing issues; multiple figure prints seem to resolve this issue. Troubleshooting: If your boot print resembles a "dookie" explosion, you're over-extruding. The legs present a great test for stringing; try adjusting retraction settings, as these prints take around 12 minutes to complete. Included Poses: Germans walking (various kits with no arms) Germans kneeling (various kits with no arms) German 88mm Loader x3 German casualty x3 Included Accessories: Panzerfaust arms MP40 arms Kar98k arms MG42 arms Binos in hand (mirror-compatible) German Stick Grenade in hand (right arm, mirror-compatible) Kar98k carried in hand (right and left arms) Mp40 carried in Right Arm (mirror-compatible) Panzerfaust carried in hand (right arm, mirror-compatible) Ammo box carried (right arms x2, supports needed) If you need a free hand, print the nade arms and cut off the sticks.
