Sd.Ah.108 was a versatile German trailer specifically designed to transport light assault boats, known as Sturmboot 39. Three of these lightweight boats were stacked on the trailer and crewed by two skilled soldiers each. When it came time to tow this heavy load, the reliable Sd.Kfz.6 was preferred due to its ample seating capacity for all boat crews and its impressive cross-country traction capabilities. Underneath the boats, the engines were safely stowed, ready to propel them into action. As part of their duties, these boats played a crucial role in various tasks such as deploying ferry sections and floating bridge components, transporting one end of the ferry line across to the opposite bank, and even providing downstream safeguards. A notable illustration of the Sd.Ah.108's capabilities can be seen in K.St.N.733 (1938), where two pontoon platoons are shown with three boats allocated to each.
