GEPRC Cygnus Insta360 Go mount with "ears" for immortal-t style antenna
thingiverse
What's going on? Why did I have to rebuild my Cygnus Frame? I recently swapped it for a CADDX Vista, but I couldn't record on the Vista and the in-goggle recording wasn't satisfying, so I grabbed an Insta360 Go to capture video during flight. As I looked around, I didn't find any ready-to-use mount for the frame (I know of one other one available now), so I investigated alternatives. I wanted the Insta360 to stand vertically, centered, as anything else looks weird to me. Plus, I desired some TPU protection in case of crashes. I merged JJangFPV's GoPro mount foot with OderWat's insta360 mount to achieve this. The Maiden Flight of my new build ended in a harsh crash, tearing off the nylon screws holding the mount. After replacing those and other screws with steel, I exceeded 250g, so I trimmed some TPU from the mount by poking ducts and holes into it carefully to avoid ruining its structural integrity. During rebuilding, I also upgraded from a D16 receiver to R9, necessitating a good spot for the R9 Immortal-T Antenna. I used saved weight to add "Ears" to the mount, allowing the antenna to be squeezed in while holding it far away from carbon and possibly avoiding battery obstruction. How did I print this? The original author suggested 25% infill, but I found it challenging to extract the camera then (I even cut it out of my first printed mount). I recommend a lower infill rate, using 8%. This mount should be printed in TPU or similar flexible material; anything less won't work. I've been printing this with Cura's Tree Support (it works, is easier to get out), and regular Support (use everywhere except the build plate, which requires lots of cutting).
