Geometric Pendant

A geometric pendant, intended for use in jewelry.

A friend of mine came to work with a beautiful necklace. I loved the profile/geometry of it, I'm a big fan of this kind of ‘simple facets but strange angles’ work, and I immediately got to designing a piece inspired by it - and this is the result!

As a basic use, this can be printed as-is, and threaded with a necklace chain. Since I don't often wear necklaces, I'm considering making a variation that can be used as a lapel pin - if I do, I'll be sure to upload a variation for it.

As always, please do share photos of your makes - and any notes you have for improvements/criticisms to improve the design.

I'm still working on my first two prints of it - I'll post my makes as soon as they're done. I want to create a brass/gold one, and a gunmetal/dark chrome one. My print/post-processing plan:

I'm printed two of these using PLA. Sanding regime starts at 80grit, working up to 1000grit, with a little filler-primer to help.

Airbrushing one with a brown/red paint, then a few layers of high-gloss sealant. Then airbrushing with a few thin layers of brass paint. Finally finishing with another layer or two of high-gloss sealant.

Airbrushing the other with a high-gloss black paint, then layering on powdered graphite. Finishing with a layer or two of a high-gloss sealant.
