I used to get really annoyed after lugging my full and heavy 8.5Kg gas bottles 100m from the servo or Bunnings to the car and then downstairs to our BBQ. The design of these gas bottles is, in my opinion, cheap junk and designed to hurt fingers, as an afterthought they also move gas around - anyway, this is my solution. Geoff's gas bottle handle just clips on, and is easily removable, making carrying gas bottles a whole lot easier.
