geodesic hubs v2
thingiverse
This is a snap-together hub system for building a dome, sphere, or other structure. It consists of two primary components that connect seamlessly with additional identical pieces. To simplify assembly, I created circular recesses at the base, making it easier to understand how the parts fit together. Once assembled, the dome will flex slightly as you place the circular indents on the bottom towards the interior of the sphere. This design requires no external supports; simply position the flat side facing downwards. This system can be adapted for structures with a 3-sided (truncated hexagon), 5-sided (pentagon), or 6-sided (hexagon) shape, or any other number of sides. I recommend using ABS plastic due to its durability, as PLA tends to crack when connecting these pieces together. For easy modification, I have included an STL/STEP file that can be edited and customized according to your needs.
