I came up with this innovative hub design for effortless assembly. Simply insert the hex rod into the ball, and then easily snap the ball into the hub - it clicks right in. Once inserted, the ball can rotate freely. You can add up to six balls/rods into the hub at a time. By connecting multiple hubs, you can create a geodesic dome or sphere, either with three balls/rods for a truncated design or with six balls/rod and five balls/rod combinations for a full geodesic shape. I included a step file so you can customize the design to your liking. The hub features a flat spot that securely holds it in place on any table, eliminating the need for supports.
