Geodesic dome 3V Assembly type
thingiverse
After designing a 2V dome, I successfully created a 3V dome. This geodesic dome measures 20 cm in diameter and features a stunning spherical shape. Simply print triangular parts and assemble them to create a breathtaking dome or sphere. To begin printing, you'll need three types of parts: AAB (isosceles triangles), BCC (isosceles triangles), and the bottom plate. The total number of pieces required for the dome is as follows: - AAB: 30 pieces (black triangular parts) - BCC: 75 pieces (white triangular parts) - Bottom plate: 5 pieces (long white sticks) When printing the bottom plates, remember to position them vertically, just like in the STL file. Printing horizontally may reduce the strength of the snaps. If you want to create a sphere instead of a dome, simply multiply the number of parts by two: - AAB: 60 pieces - BCC: 120 pieces - Bottom plate: 0 pieces (no bottom plate is required) Assembling the dome or sphere is easy; just follow the photos provided. Note that scaling up your print will result in an expanded dome, but shrinking it may not be feasible due to the structural limitations of the snap mechanism.
