This cap lets you add an eyelet to your PET Geocaching container by gluing it onto the bottle cap.

This model accepts bottle caps up to a diameter of 30 mm. Instead of a model with printed threads, this method provides a better, watertight seal by using a standard bottle cap for PET bottles which is being glued into the printed cap.
Any glue/resin for plastic should work, however, we achieved good results using Tangit PVC-U glue which we had lying around.

Print instructions:

Place the model upright (1st picture) on the print bed.

Print without rafts and without supports if your filament supports bridging over a length of 30 mm (PLA worked fine). If not, you only need supports on the print bed. The eyelet is designed to print without supports.

I printed on black PLA and didn't have any issues with the caps breaking under direct sunlight after 6 months. However, printing in PETG or ASA/ABS might be more suitable for prolonged outdoor use.

Assembly:

Screw your bottle cap onto a PET container. This allows for better positioning of the bottle cap inside the print.

Spread adhesive on the inside of the print. Insert and twist the bottle cap to ensure even spread of the glue.

Let the adhesive set before opening the container. There should be no movement between bottle cap and print.

Thread a fence wire through the eyelet and bend it into your desired shape (e.g., a hook).
