Geocache Bolt

This is a robust bolt with a concealed storage compartment. The design allows for space to include a sealing washer or O-ring to seal the container. The hidden chamber measures 0.8 inches in diameter and extends approximately 3.5 inches deep, providing ample room for a few log sheets and small pencils. The external thread of the bolt is 1 1/2-6 UNC and the internal thread is a matching 1 3/8-6 UNC. Printer settings include: RepRap printer brand; Custom printer; no raft; no support material; resolution of 0.2mm; 30% infill rate; and layer height of 0.2 mm in Cura. Print the bolt head and shank. Install a seal at the bottom of the bolt head. Then, assemble the pieces and tighten the nut. The threads might require some manipulation to loosen them. This design was printed using Black ABS. After assembly, it was coated with several layers of spray acrylic. The seal was initially intended for Ninjaflex but ultimately an O-ring was used instead.
