Gentle Touch - Raptor Reloaded fingertip rework
thingiverse
We designed this model to enable grasping small objects effortlessly by replicating human-like finger flexibility. By utilizing a flexible fingertip that deforms in shape, we achieved better grip capabilities, particularly during pinching motions. Our experiment utilizes Jumping Clay, a deformable and pliable material that transforms into a durable rubber substance after curing. The rubbery fingertips are encapsulated within finger gloves, safeguarding the clay from external damage and simulating human-like skin. Printing Details Rafting: Activated Support Features: Active Infill Percentage: 20% Production Notes: Optimize print output to achieve three-to-four shells with equivalent scale factors applied. Additional Processing Steps: Post-Manufacturing Protocol Supports are thoroughly removed; sand the surface, eliminating any remaining residue or debris. Apply a chosen rubber-based coating. For users employing Jumping Clay, reshape the material into the desired shape, then allow it to cure for 2-3 days. To protect Jumping Clay from water-induced softening, apply a waterproof sealant after the specified curing time.
