Genova Shower Drain
thingiverse
## Description This is a recreation of my old Genova shower drain cover. This was discontinued many decades ago. Since it has such unusual dimensions I was unable to find a replacement. Instead of destroying my shower tile for a new drain kit, I decided to 3D print it a new cover. I've added a middle beam to support the grate through the center. I'm hoping this prevents any future mishaps from snapping off the other beams. > Note: I've included the `Sketchup` file, but there seems to be a bug exporting it as an STL with the faces not rendering correctly. I had to use a third party tool to repair the uploaded STL. ## Retrospective I had this printed with polypropylene and have been testing it out. If I had to print it again, I would: 1. Increase the diameter slightly since it seems under-fit by 1-2mm. 2. Increase the machine screw hole slightly to ~11/64" (since as I left no tolerance) 3. Change the drain design to something more suited for catching hair (like a bunch of small holes).
