Geneva Lever Mechanism

Geneva Lever Mechanism

grabcad

This project showcases a dynamic simulation in Autodesk Inventor 2014, where a crank's 20 RPM motion is imposed. Gravity is absent. The objective of this mechanism is to transform continuous crank rotation into a fork's oscillating movement with extended dwell periods. The crank's rotation is driven by the handle, and the roller engages the fork channel. Notably, during the dwell phase, the fork's inertial motion is halted due to contact between locking parts. A small clearance ensures flexibility for accommodating these contacts. Animation is achieved by transferring simulation data to Inventor Studio using the "Publish to Studio" tool. For Inventor users, ensure all files are in a single directory and open .iam with 2014, 2015, etc., accessing Environments/Dynamic Simulation and pressing Play. If images take too long to render, reduce from 6000 to 1200. Happy exploring!
