A standard quartz second hand mounted on an extension is used to show the seconds.   I have also added a 3D printed backplate that includes the required holes for all the parts so the printed template is not required and the original dial can be left in place.The backplate is printed in four parts and can be painted or printed in any color. Also included is a clock hanger that fits in place of the clock movement spacer.  Clock AssemblySeparate the inner plastic piece from the outer metal frame by taking the steel clips off.Put the metal frame and the glass inside the Bondis cardboard packing box for safe keeping.   Remove the clock hands and the clock movement. You will not need these as we will be using a different, high torque clock movement.Enlarge the central hole to 18mm.  Slice off the original clock hanger so a fixing/blanking plate can be added later.  Insert the large 6002 bearing into the "CentralGearHolder" pushing it all the way in until it hits the rear stop.Insert the "CentralGearHolder" into the case where the original quartz movement was fixed.The open part of the "CentralGearHolder" should face out towards the rear of the case.   Using a 3mm drill bit and using the four "CentralGearHolder" holes as a template drill through the case and dial.This will make the fixing points for the "Geneva_Gear_Central" and also the "backplates" Q1 to Q4.Using a craft knife cut the dial sticker around the larger hole in the case to make room for the central gear spigot.Turn the clock over and the new holes should be visible in the dial.   Install the four "Stanoffs" by placing the "Drill_Template_Standoff" onto the rim of the case.Centre punch  the rim through the template and then fit a "Standoff" using 2 off M3x6mm bolts and nuts.  With the 1st "Standoff" in place place "Drill_Template_Standoff" in the next position and then the work around the case fitting the 3 other "Standoffs" in turn.  With all the "Standoffs" fixed in place lay the "Geneva_Gear_Central" on the dial and roughly line up the four holes in the dial.  Slide the first painted or colour printed "backplate" quadrant Q1 under the "Geneva_Gear_Central" and then loosely fix in place with a M3x8mm bolt.   Repeat for the quadrants Q2 to Q4. Ensure the quadrants are all aligned with each other and then fully tighten the four M3x8mm bolts into the "Geneva_Gear_Central" to fix them in place.   Press the "clock_movement_template" temporarily into the hole for the quartz movement spindle.Using the backplate as a template drill M2.5 holes in the top two positions and then drill M3 holes in all the others.Remove the "clock_movement_template" and backplate Q1 & Q4 and enlarge the hole to 10mm to take the quartz movement spindle.Replace the backplates removed above.    Rear of clock showing the locations of the holes drilled through the back plates Q1 to Q4.    Once all the holes were drilled I removed the backplates and spayed the inside of the clock, dial and standoffs matt black.The standoffs are visible from the outside of the clock against the original case sides so making them all the same colour blends them in.Once the paint is dry refitted the backplates and central gear.   Fix the UTS movement in place using the UTS fixing nut. This also holds the top of backplate Q1 & Q4 in place. Fix the minute arc to the backplate Q2 and Q3 using the holes in the back plates with 6 off M3x10 bolts.I used the split arc with more holes by tobster but the holes should align for other versions.This also fixes the lower parts of backplates Q2 and Q3 in place.  Press the minute hand nut into the ClockMovementGear and fix in place with some super glue.Screw the  ClockMovementGear onto the UTS movement spindle.I used Loctite on the nut to stop it working  loose.    Makeup the seconds ring by clamping the seconds dial in place on the SecondsMiddle using the Seconds Outer and Inner rings.Fix the 2 SecondsRingBrackets through the paper dial into the SecondsMiddle with 2 off M1.7x5mm self tappers.The bracket also clamps the inner and outer rings in place. The seconds dial label is printed on photo paper and cutout with a craft knife.The inner and outer rings press over the label to cover the cut edges. I printed my dial label direct from my CAD program but have included a PDF with dimensions to ensure it is printed to the correct size. See other files for the PDF.   Fix the seconds ring to the backplate.The bracket are fixed to the backplate Q1 & Q4 with 2 off M2x8mm bolts washers and nuts.Note the washer go under the head of the bolts not the nuts.   Fit the second hand using the secondsHandSupport bonded to a spare UTS seconds pin. The second hand height will need to be adjusted to clear the fixing brackets and the hours numerals fitted later.  Option 1Fix the 2 off backplateFixing in place with 1 off M3x8mm  and 1 off M3x10mm bolts and nuts in the holes in the back plate. The longer bolt goes through the backplateBlankingpanel to cover the hole in the case.This also helps hold the backplate Q1-Q4 in place.   Option 2Fix the 2 off  dial makers name and location in place with 1 off M3x8mm  and 1 off M3x10mm bolts and nuts in the holes in the back plate. The longer bolt goes through the backplateBlankingpanel to cover the hole in the case.Two additional fixing holes can be drilled through the maker name and location panels, back plate and case once the lover bolts/nuts are tight. Note I made the makers name/location panels up in my CAD program then added colour in photoshop before using  imagetostl.com to convert to a STL file. There are no included 3D files for these items as you will want custom panels.   Assembling the Geneva Gear Movment Insert the bearings into the Central_gear.They should be a good tight fit with no movement.   Assemble the Geneva drive gears into the bearings.Gear 3 is made up from 2 parts, Geneva_Gear_3 and Geneva_Driver.A M3x4MM bolt fixes the 2 parts together with a 4mm piece of 1.75mm filament placed in the holes on mating surfaces to make sure they are aligned. Note the order of placement.Rotate gear 2 with your finger. The gear should rotate freely -there should be no stiffness or catching on any part of the rotation.Ensure the gear is rotated so all the slots in the driven gear (4) are tested.The clock will stop at random if the rotation is not 100% free.    Repeat the above for all three sets. If you have used my 3D printed backplate then add the CentralgearSpacer over the central spindle of the  large Central_Gear.   Add the number wheelsMake sure the gears are aligned exactly as the image below.    The three number wheels are fixed to the driven wheel (Geneva_Driven) by a M3x18mm or M3x16mm bolt depending on the variant of driven gear used.A number wheel washer is then placed over the end that sticks out from the main central gear.Use the correct washer to match the "Improved" or "further improved "version of driven gear.Screw the number wheels in place onto the washers.Make sure the driven gears and hand wheels are aligned exactly as shown below.     Flip the completed gears over and insert them into the clock case and locate onto the  Geneva_Gear_Central bolted to the back plate.A gentle wiggle should mesh the gears together.Fix the clock in place from the back with the CentralGearRetainer and a M3x10mm bolt.Insert the battery into the UTS movement and the second hand should start turning.     Once you are happy the clock is running OK fit the clock rear panel back into the case using the four metal clips.  Completed clock with glass in place.  3D Printed Parts & Hardware Lists 3D Printed PartsNo supports are needed unless stated.
