While tinkering with my car, I opted to take on the "Easy intake mod":\r\nhttp://www.gencoupe.com/3-8-v6-discussion-2013-up/440546-easy-stock-intake-mod.html\r\nThis modification involves removing a plastic baffle that enhances airflow to the intake of the vehicle (works exceptionally well).\r\nOnce you finally figure out how to release it from the bumper, which is held in place by clips, start at one side and work your way in. You'll be left with some loose-fitting plastic trim bolts, as evident in the second photo on that thread.\r\nThis spacer matches the thickness of the removed component and fits snugly under the clip, covering the rectangular part of the opening. The protrusion holds it firmly by pressing against the bottom part of the opening, preventing rotation and vibration of the spacer.
