A generic printed Z-axis for a Stereolithographic UV 3D printer is displayed, designed and created today using 3/8" steel rods, 1/4" 20tpi threaded rod, and plywood as base. The SCAD file allows adjustments to make it compatible with 1/4-8mm rods. The overall length of the axis is 300mm, but customizable. Recommended components include 12x 5mm bolts, washers, nuts, 608 bearing, stepper motor, 8mm nut, and 300mm 8mm-threaded rod. Additional 3/8" steel rods with 3/8 ID, 1/2 OD brass bushings are also needed. Further progress updates on the printer will be shared.
