Generic MX Key Cap
thingiverse
I crafted this key cap while working on my custom 15-Key Macro Keyboard project. The file features built-in support via a brim on the center post as well as around the edge of the key cap, ensuring successful prints every time. I've printed 50 of these at once without experiencing any failures. Make sure to turn off automatic supports when printing this key cap. These key caps come off the build plate relatively smooth. To achieve optimal results, I recommend using a glue stick and a sheet of glass as your print surface; however, you can use any working surface that suits your needs. The brims should easily detach, followed by light sanding on the top edges to finish the key caps. Please note that the key caps in the pictures had not been fully sanded yet. I typically print these at a 0.1mm layer height, using three perimeters and 90% infill settings. To fine-tune how tightly the key caps grip your switch stems, adjust the model size in small increments within your slicer software.
