Generic Impeller with Casing
thingiverse
Here are the details for my 8 spline impeller with a custom made case. It was a term project that I designed myself for school. The design allows it to be attached to a DC motor at its center, featuring a 38mm diameter by 120mm long spindle, not included in the thingiverse files. When powered on with an Arduino controller, the microcontroller adjusts the RPM to create a vacuum that can be used for various purposes. The measurements are as follows: - The casing measures 278mm x 230mm x 92mm. - The impeller measures 183mm x 183mm x 51mm. Attached are the files for the entire project, split into four sections to accommodate printers with size limitations. I've also included settings used when printing in PLA: - A hotend temperature of 190 degrees Celsius - A heatbed temperature of 70 degrees Celsius - Supports on the impeller and casing for everything under 35 degrees, printed standing up - 50 percent infill - Approximately 55 hours of printing time, using just under a spool of filament (~1kg) The attached pictures show the finished print after sanding and priming, resulting in a smooth surface finish.
