Upon ignition switch activation, the excitation winding's rotor initiates direct current flow from the battery. Within the rotor core, a magnetic field forms, which is closed via the stator. Once the rotor starts to spin, the magnetic fields of its poles pierce the stator coils, turning and inducing variable EMF in each coil. As rotational speed increases, the generator's EMF exceeds that of the battery, powering all energy consumers (battery, winding, lighting, etc.) through a rectifier.
