General UltraTech 146 & 1433 Composite Calipers Roller Wheel

Use to add a roller to your digital calipers. The holder is specifically sized to fit onto the General UltraTech No. 1433 (3") calipers, but should also fit the No. 146 (6") calipers which appear to use the same slider assembly.

The wheel has 60° overhangs so you will need a shorter layer height to print without supports (I recommend 0.16 mm max for a 0.4 mm line width).

Attach the holder to the calipers using a small amount of super-glue/CA (be very careful not to use too much as you could seize up the calipers).

For the actual wheel, I recommend wrapping the core with a strip of electrical tape. I attempted to secure the tape a bit more with a tiny amount of CA at the edges of the seam.

I also included an (untested) alternate model with a bit larger core spikes that may work without any tape if you print with a small enough nozzle/line width. But for a 0.4 mm nozzle you need the electrical tape or something with similar grippiness for the wheel to actually smoothly move the slider assembly. The spikes come out more like bumps due to the filament diameter.

Please note that due to the stop location on the calipers the wheel could fall out if you open the calipers all the way.

My printer passes the 0.2 mm tolerance core on the Maker's Muse v1 tolerance test (with Klipper Pressure Advance) and these parts are sized for this tolerance.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Infill:

15%

Filament:
Eryone PLA
Signal Gray

Notes:

Layer Height: 0.16 or shorter
Line Width: 0.40
Sliced with PrusaSlicer

Printed on Ender 3 V2

Category: Parts
