General-purpose NEMA 14 stepper motor casing
thingiverse
This is a versatile enclosure design specifically tailored for NEMA14-size stepper motors. I aimed to create an enclosure that remains relatively heat-insensitive by minimizing unnecessary surface contact between the casing and the motor. The primary objective of this design approach is to allow users to print the entire enclosure using PLA alone, without experiencing noteworthy deformations during operation due to the high heat generated by the stepper motor. To fabricate a complete enclosure, you will need to print two covers, one belt, and four corners. I also incorporated a simple octahedral shaft cap into this design. By intention, the cap's inner diameter is wider than 5 mm. When printing with PLA, for effective heat insulation, it is essential to surround the shaft with a piece of shrinking tube before applying the cap. All attachments are secured using 2.5 mm screws at various lengths.
