Generac Hole Plug

Generac Hole Plug

thingiverse

A Generac whole house generator features four lifting holes near its base, creating an ideal habitat for wildlife until the generator kicks into action. Regrettably, Generac does not provide plug-in solutions for these openings, prompting users to seek alternative solutions. This design tightly seals the gap and has been successfully employed on a 16kW generator. The creator suggests that this solution may also be suitable for other sizes; feedback from users is welcome. To achieve optimal results, printing the design sideways yields the best outcomes, minimizing required supports and producing a smooth finish on the front. Using an Ender 3 Pro with PLA filament at 0.12 layer height and support enabled, one can produce a snug fit in the generator's hole. However, minor filing or sanding is necessary to smoothen the area where supports were generated, after which the design fits perfectly into place.
