Gen4 LCD and Buttons Interface DIY
thingiverse
To run Jetty's accelerated firmware from Thingiverse, you initially needed the LCD, available on MakerBot's interface kit documentation. However, the latter is discontinued; thus, a DIY approach was taken. All parts cost less than $60. The LCD was sourced from Crystalfontz, while the rest came with Digi-Key links in the BOM. A CupCake or TOM can print the case, but slicing needs improvement. A hacked version is available on Thingiverse. You'll need parts per BOM, wiring (like USB cable stripping), a soldering iron & solder, and heat shrink. No LCD version is available now. The process involves fixing slicing in OpenSCAD, printing, gluing, soldering, and referring to MiseryLCD Build.pdf for guidance before playing with the setup. A hole may be added for contrast pot access.
