Gemini & Stanton Style Tonearm Rest Clip
thingiverse
Here is a replacement clip for the tonearm rest of an old Gemini TT01 belt drive turntable based on a Stanton STR8 arm rest. As a first upload, it's not very exciting, but I'm sharing it anyway while I work and tweak more designs as I go. I recently picked up an old broken Gemini TT01. The deck was working, so rather than strip it, I started fixing it. As with most decks bought for parts, the tonearm rest was damaged. The fragile clip that locks the tonearm in place had snapped off, leaving just a fraction of the shape held on by a snap fit rotating tube. I attempted to replace it with a spare Stanton STR8 rest as the two had a similar style system but the whole base was too short for the hole in the case. The Stanton rest and clip did fit around the tonearm, and not having the original Gemini clip to go by, the resulting 3D version is a mix of a Stanton clip with a basic snap tube based on the remaining plastic in the Gemini clip. It's very small, so technical snap fit parts didn't translate on my printer (credit to Karl for helping to reverse engineer a tiny snap fit that got the better of me!), but it does 'snap' into the rest and holds the tonearm tightly while also rotating when in use. Hopefully someone finds it useful, and I presume it will work with other turntable models like the Stanton STR8 arm it's based on - if someone with more ability can clean it up a bit, feel free.
