Gem with beefy arms

Gem with beefy arms

thingiverse

I realize we're well past the "beefy arms" trend that briefly swept Thingiverse, but... I designed a couple of these as speaker gifts for pdxruby.org, and then just kept building more. A few points to note: This looks especially striking in translucent filament. I usually print with supports set to "everywhere" in Cura, but you can likely get away without it. The base is truncated so the thing will stick to the build plate and stand up on its own. If you're having adhesion issues (probably with the point of the gem, which has the smallest surface area), try these options: Add a brim Enlarge the print Lower the print a few more mm below the build plate (i.e., cut off more of the base) Copy and edit the source parts on TinkerCAD: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/1bjLE3DICk3-gem-with-beefy-arms Print Settings Rafts: It Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Infill: 20%
