Gelato Machine spinner
thingiverse
We have a Nemox 2000 gelato machine that is fantastic! Life is always better with ice cream. However, some mixes can become quite viscous and solidify in the machine before they are fully blended. This results in a solid mass forming in the middle of the machine that just keeps spinning around. This spinner attaches to the Nemox rotor and encourages the mix to move towards the basin walls early in the mixing process. As a result, there is less chance of a separation occurring between the colder material on the bowl wall and the warmer, not-so-well blended material in the center of the bowl. The spinner fastens securely under the mixer rotor and locks into place with a simple twist. When printing this model, please ensure that you are using food-grade filament! This project is still a work in progress as it may require several iterations to achieve optimal performance. 2018-08-05 Update * A clean, food-proof seal has been added to most edges. * Tweaks have been made to the blade thickness. * Improved inner spindle clearances have been implemented. * The spinner has been tested and significantly improves mix quality on custard-based ice cream.
