Geely Moped Throttle Replacement

Geely Moped Throttle Replacement

My girlfriend's bike shop sold us a replacement throttle for her moped for thirty dollars - a small price to pay for that tiny part. However, the part we received was partially broken and had no return policy. Fortunately, it was in better shape than the one that broke off her bike, allowing me to remake it and give it an extra layer of engineering. If you're experiencing issues with your throttle, try applying some foam rubber where the part meets the handlebar or using liquid electrical tape before tightening it down. This will prevent it from sliding on the bar. Note that PLA doesn't deform well, so its size is exact to the bike; if you use ABS, consider making a slightly undersized version for easier assembly. Feel free to create your own versions of this and help people resist overpriced replacement parts or even print almost every part on a bike. I just don't want others profiting from my work without giving me credit. Things like this should be free or printed at cost, but unfortunately, the world is run by greedy individuals. Post-printing notes: A little liquid electrical tape on the connection point to the metal handlebar is helpful. If you can't remember what size nut and bolt to use, just visit your local hardware store - they usually have a common size available.
