I designed this adapter ring to recycle an empty Geeetech filament spool to accept MasterSpool refill coils.I don't know if all Geeetech spools are the same. The core of mine had a diameter of 80mm.The adapter has an outer diameter of 102mm and a width of 46mm. The screw holes are 2.9mm in diameter.Hardware needed:1 x printed adapter ring6 x screws M3 x 10mm+Tools needed:A small hand sawA 4mm drill bitA screwdriver matching the screwsOptional: An M3 x 0.5 tapOptional: CA glueNote: The Fusion 360 source file is included, so you can modify it to fit your needs.Post-PrintingStep 1Saw the spool in half and measure the diameter of the core. It should be ~80mm.Step 2Print the drill template and double check that it fits your spool.Step 3If it does, print the actual adapter (3 perimeters for 0.4mm nozzles, 10% infill is enough). While it prints …Step 4… use the drill template and drill the holes in both halves of the Geeetech spool.Step 5Screw the adapter ring to one half. Place the other half in the adapter and mark how much you have to shorten the old core. Trimm off the excess.Optional steps:Tap the holes.Add CA glue to one side.Step 6Done. :)Category: 3D Printing
