My Prusa i3 Acrylic printer model came with a thread rod in the Z-top mount that didn't provide a solid bushing solution. The result was a grinding motion that wore down the material. This part can be easily replaced by a modified solution of my own design. To get started, you'll need two ballbearings measuring 11mm in length and 5mm in diameter. You'll also need to modify both thread-rods from the Z-Axis on your lathe machine. Specifically, you should reduce the diameter of each rod to 5mm at a point approximately 16-20mm from the top. This will allow them to snugly fit into the ballbearings. If you're working with the X-Axis, take note that it's best to position the stop rings on the inside rather than following the manual's instructions to place them on the outside. For a clearer understanding of this adjustment, refer to the last picture in your documentation.
