Here is the spun text: Geeetech Prusa I3 X 8mm Acrylic Y Idler & Tensioner - A Game-Changing Design After a series of mishaps with my initial tensioner support bracket, I realized it was time for a complete rethink. My first remix had a tendency to catch the Y carriage occasionally, and it was clear that something needed to change. This design was inspired by my research into pulley systems for another project, but then I stumbled upon the Crowned Pulley created by DaleDunn on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14117). While testing the crowned pulley, I learned a valuable lesson - a good snug fit is essential. My test part was too tight and required heat gun assistance to fit the bearings. However, despite its flaws, it printed for 20 hours without issue. This idler & tensioner design utilizes the Original Bracket from Geeetech and 624ZZ (2off 4mmx13mmx5mm) bearings. The parts included are: M3 cap head x25mm M3 Nylock M3 square flat nut supplied by Geeetech M3 Washer To ensure proper belt clearance, I filed down the Cap Head Bolt head and added an Alan key grip. For secure fastening, I used the square M3 nut as a locknut on the pulley bracket. Between the spacer and Thumb wheel, I inserted an M3 washer. The most critical aspect is to get the Original metal U bracket to engage into the square hole in the acrylic front without pinching the belt at the top or bottom. Additionally, it's essential to ensure the belt isn't too long, as this can cause the idler bracket with the small square M3 nut to bottom out before reaching optimal tension. To simplify belt length adjustment, I recommend using a Y Carriage Belt Holder that allows for easy adjustments (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDiU9ghSkDo). This setup is far more convenient than the original kit's design, which requires punching holes in the belt. I've added an idler to accommodate MR84zz bearings, but I'm unable to test this modification. It may work similarly to the other one.
