Geeetech Prusa I3 Pro Belt Clip for Y Axis

This is similar to the belt clip I made for the X axis of my Geeetech Prusa I3. It allows me to put a 180 degree twist in the belt so the teeth of the belt don't run over the smooth idler wheel as they shouldn't. The piece can be attached to the carriage by using either 3mm machine screws or sheet metal screws threaded into the plastic. The hole depth is 16 mm, so keep that in mind when selecting screws. Anything much longer will run into the belt slot. I made this last year at the request of a user who had downloaded the X axis belt clip I made. When I received no comments, I removed it. Later, I made one for a family member who built a Geeetech I3, so I think it's safe to say it works, although I have not used one myself. On my printer, I just put a twist in the belt and fastened it to the aluminum block furnished, and I haven't had any reason to change from that. If you find a problem, let me know and I'll make some changes. I used PLA for this, which is stronger than ABS and holds threads beautifully if you are careful while cutting them. Update 1/28/17: So far, I've developed a preference for screws threaded into PLA where practical, but if you want to use 3 mm machine screws and nuts, let me know and I'll add a version to accommodate them. Print Settings Printer: Geeetech Prusa I3 Pro Dual Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 or 0.2 mm Infill: 20 or 30% should be plenty Notes: Use a minimum of two perimeters, and preferably three. It will be mostly solid at three perimeters. Post-Printing Tap the holes with the screws you are going to use. Use a soldering iron applied to the head of the screw and heat it until the plastic softens. Advance the screw until it cools to the point where it gets harder to turn, and then reheat (but not too much).
