Geeetech prusa i3 pro B z-axis top mounts
thingiverse
Along with designing and installing my anti-z-wobble device, I modified the original top mount of the Z-axis lead screw by drilling it out to allow for smoother movement and to accommodate the smaller holes on my acrylic frame that were causing the lead screw to bind. The Z-axis wobble was eliminated, but now I had to deal with a jiggling lead screw, which was annoying me greatly, especially when the printer returned to its home position and the lead screw bounced around wildly - this couldn't be healthy for the already bent screw and coupling. After searching Thingiverse for a solution that met my needs, I found nothing suitable: everything was over-engineered and didn't fit with what I had in place. All I wanted was something similar to the original top mount that could accommodate a loose-fitting bearing to stabilize the 8mm lead screw - it didn't need to be a solid-fitted bearing or provide support, just guide the lead screw to prevent it from flying out of control. Unable to find what I needed, I started from scratch and designed something almost identical to the original top mount with adaptations for a loose-fitting F608ZZ 8mm bearing. It works perfectly - even if I do say so myself. I use it with my own design and it has proven perfectly effective in eliminating all z-axis wobble effects.
